Elevating local voices through community art.

After a devastating weather event, Northern Rivers Community Gallery launched the Ballina Contemporary Art Market to reconnect the community and celebrate local creativity. But to make an impact, it needed to feel bigger than a gallery event—inviting a broader audience and making art more accessible. Without a clear identity or digital presence, the market risked feeling exclusive rather than inclusive.
We built a visual identity that was bold, welcoming, and easy to engage with. A DIY-style acronym logomark gave it a recognisable stamp, while a bright, inviting colour palette helped it stand out. A streamlined website made it simple to explore featured artists, music acts, and submissions—removing barriers to participation. More than a brand refresh, this was about ensuring the event felt like it belonged to the whole community.

The Ballina Contemporary Art Market is now a cultural staple—accessible, inclusive, and deeply connected to the Northern Rivers. More than an event, it’s a movement that brings people together through art.

“The way the logo sparks curiosity while delivering clear information aligns perfectly with our vision of contemporary art and broadening our audience in a fresh way.”
